Cheri Stollar, MA, is a Provisionally Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner in Nebraska and holds a Master of Arts in Counseling from Doane University. Her work at Into Balance combines a collaborative and compassionate therapy style with a person-centered orientation and techniques drawn from cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy.
Cheri has specialized training in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy for Indigenous children and their caregivers through the University of Oklahoma Indian Country Child Trauma Center. She is also trained to address historical trauma within minority populations, intergenerational trauma within families, and trauma experienced during childhood and adulthood.
Her experience includes working with children, adolescents, and adults in both individual and group settings. She has worked with people experiencing PTSD, dissociation, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, psychosis, substance use, grief and loss, homelessness, incarceration, and concerns involving gender and sexuality. Her experience also includes working with survivors of human trafficking, intimate partner violence, and sexual violence.
Cheri is particularly passionate about empowering people who have experienced trauma, racism, and oppression. At Into Balance, her specialized trauma experience contributes to our ability to provide care for clients facing complex and varied life experiences.
